Washington DC second day

Finally arrived in Washington DC. What a place, so many museums, monuments and memorials to see.

When we arrived at the campground there was an introduction in how to use the transportation system and how to get to all the places you want to visit, very informational!¬† So yesterday we did our first try, easy and cheap. We parked at the Metro station for $5.20 for a whole day, used the metro and the “circulatory” bus system to get us around. The whole day cost us about $15 in transportation and parking, not bad at all, an organized tour with a bus would have cost us $50 a person for the very same trip we did by ourselves. It also pays to be a senior with discounts at tram and bus.

We are at the Cherry Hill campground in College Park, Maryland. The closest camping to Washington DC.
